Crammed in the streets of Bentleigh is one of my favourite local cafes, seriously why travel all the way to the city when you can just visit Little Tommy Tucker?

The cafe itself is quite busy. I would assume that regardless of what day, it is always in high demands from customers, hence, finding a seat may not always be your perfect cup of tea. However, having said that, I'm going to tell you from personal experience that it is worth every second waiting.

I went on a pretty gloomy Sunday. The sky was grey and clouds, pouring but that didn't stop anyone. It was busy nonetheless and I ended up waiting half an hour for a table. Unlike other cafes I had the manager coming back and forth reassuring us that it wouldn't be too long now. "10 mins" he'd say but we all knew that wasn't the case.

Regardless, we sat through the wait and service was speedy. We had a lovely waitress as soon as we sat who brought out our freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee 5 minutes later. Orders were taken and the wait wasn't too bad for food, perhaps another 15-20minutes and although some of us grew weary, the food made it all worth.

I had the famous Dr Marty's Crumpets with Poached Pears and Caramelised Honey and although it looked small, it was filling and absolutely perfection. We also had the Egg Benedict and Tommy Tucker Wagyu Burger on our table and that was also divine. The Brioche was sweet and toasted slightly, patty itself full of flavour and what could go wrong with the egg Benedict? nothing of course.

Seriously, if you're unsure where to go and around this end of Melbourne, I would 100% recommend Little Tommy Tucker. The only problem is, if you're more of a sweet breakfast indulger (like me) the menu won't offer much for you. Nonetheless go anyway and try new food. New is also good.
