Right opposite Queens Vic Market is Chi Mac, a Korean Restaurant open for dinner and known for their fried chicken serving. I personally have never been to a restaurant just dedicated to chicken so this is a first timer for me. I was expecting something along the lines of how amazing people make out Hot Star Chicken to be (Taiwanese Chicken - fast food located in numerous streets in the CBD) but if you haven't heard a critical comment from me, you're about to read a whole lot of it.

The restaurant is small, noisy, not your ideal night out unless you're heading to a bar after or just around the neighbourhood for a quick chill session. The staffs there speak little english but bearable of course. They were polite and friendly and the place itself is funky, accompanying a pop art and comic love vibe.

The menu ranges from small korean dishes to share to tacos and chicken. It's literally a Korean infused cross of a pop up store of Taco Bell and KFC. Honestly quite a mix.

We ended up ordering a plate of shoestring fries which was the most appalling plate I've seen, I could have made that at home and sprinkled it with mozzarella, as well as a plate of shoestring fries topped with Kim Chi, Salsa and Mozzarella. That was definitely worth the money (we ended up ordering another).
Sizzling Bulgogi $16

Tofu on Kimchi field with Beef
On top of that we had Tofu on Kim Chi field with the sizzling Bulgogi which was another favourite as well as a mix and match plate of chimac chicken. The chicken really disappointed though. I might as well have went to KFC, actually maybe KFC would have been better. The only unique feature of their chicken was the fact that it was richly marinated. The chicken itself was bland, a bit dry but perhaps because it was "ultra crispy".I wouldn't recommend the original though, Seriously just go to KFC if you're craving chicken, your money is worth more there.

Nonetheless, the place does have a high review, with 93% on Urbanspoon, surely I'm missing something right? Perhaps I'll drop by to try the tacos next time, maybe that'll be better but perhaps this just isn't my cup of tea. Let me know what you guys think the next time you drop by though, is it worth another try?
